Price break for 3 or more attendees (call for more info).\n\nLevel 1 – Introduction to Airtightness Fundamentals \nLevel 1 is targeted at witnessing authorities\, testing and commissioning companies\, and consultants. Learn about the behavior of air within a building and the effects it will have on energy efficiency. Understand the different testing circumstances that are acceptable and get the understanding of which factors influence a test. Also\, there is a section for witnessing authorities to help understand what to look for during an airtightness or blowerdoor test to be able to judge on the quality of a test. \nModule includes: \n\nWhy airtightness testing?\nFundamentals of the blowerdoor\nRules and regulations: global and local\nVentilation system and relationship with airtightness\nWitnessing an airtightness test\nPitfalls and tips for tests\n\nLevel 2 – Basic Airtightness Testing \nLevel 2 is targeted at testers. This course will teach technicians about door fan test equipment\, including basic theory and operation\, and give them the foundation to run a single fan airtightness test in accordance with ASTM\, LEED\, ISO\, EN\, ATTMA\, (Estidama\, Green Building regulations\, IBC) etc. Technicians will become familiar with the use of the equipment as well as with Retrotec’s FanTestic Pro software. This intermediate course will provide an understanding of the role that air leakage plays in buildings. The principles in this training course apply to residential houses\, apartment buildings\, office\, commercial\, high-rise\, and industrial buildings\, as well as an array of other applications. \n\n\nWe will discuss real world problems that occur in buildings\, why they leak\, where they leak\, as well as the impact of that leakage. You will gain a better understanding of the benefits of airtightness\, the theory of air barriers and the importance of ventilation in well-designed buildings.\n\nAttendees receive a Manufacturer’s Certification at end of training session.\n\nA note for Washington State testers: Effective July 1\, 2023\, testers in Washington State are required to be certified by an ISO 17024-accredited organization.
